I just saw the Master Station List Changes topic on your site. We have a topic for announcing changes that have been made, but not one by a mod stating changes should be discussed in advance. The latter might be unique to your site, as I have not seen anything like it elsewhere. Why do you think a mod posted it? Is there some history there, e.g. the Great MSL Edit Wars of 1983? I'm curious.

Hi Dan: Yes every moving part on the Buick has been replaced over the years. The bushings are the only thing left. Even the wheel alignment has a life time warr. They should have found the bushing problem when they did the last alignment. I will let you know when its back on the road. Thanks again. Carl

Hi Dan: I have a question for you Dan. Do you know if the control arm bushings can be replaced in my Buick without touching the ball joints. The ball joints are in good shape and I don't want to take the chance of doing damage to the rubber. Carl

Good morning Dan, I woke up this morning & got my Red convertible icon finally. My wife & I have been very busy trying to find suitable subsidized housing for our 47 year old daughter who has MS & recently "no husband". I will email you with details when I have some time later.

Hi Dan: I went to pay the man this morning for the U-Joints and we tested the car again and it did show up and he told me that he thinks it is the control arm bushings or ball joints. He said that he saw the wheel move back when I put on the brake. He was standing beside the car watching it. I will take it back to him next week. Carl

Hi Dan: Well My friend looked at the Buick and he did replace the U-Joints. He said they were shot. That did not take out the noise. Looks like this thing has all of us up a tree. The gears in the differential are okay. I will take the front wheels off again and go over everything. I will look at all the nuts & bolts and for anything that looks out of place. Other than that I will just keep an eye on it. Thanks you & all the guys that gave me the input. I will let you know if I find out the problem. Thanks again. Carl

Hi - noticed your post on the MSL changes topic. If I were you, I'd just do as I do: just make the changes and post any major ones after the fact (letting the MSL just keep the record for piddly stuff like adding/subtracting fuel grades, restrooms, etc.) In fact, any more I think most people just make changes anyway - and where I asked about this, only one place said they'd rather have every single change written up, and that was Greensboro. If someone doesn't agree, they can just change it back. I think all this about consulting first dates back to when the MSL was just getting established. Just my two cents' worth, and I hope it helps.

Hi Dan: Yes I replaced the brake pads and the calipers. The rear brake drums were replaced. The brake shoes are in good shape. The sound only comes in forward not as I apply the brakes but as I let up on the brake. When the back tires were up I moved the wheels back & forth and the sound seem to be at the U-Joints or the gears. Seems it has some play when moving the wheels back & forth. It makes the sound as I move the wheels by hand back & forth but it only makes the sound when driving in forward and not in reverse as the brake peddle is let up not when the brake is applied. Thanks for the ideas. Carl

Ta for the comments. I read of a couple of lads who tried to half inch a Chev Corvette that is a geared car. They actually asked the owner how to drive it. My first car was a Ford Alglia 100E, three gears, crash box, wipers worked off engine vacuum. Cost me thirty quid.
