Remember they said the pipeline would bring MILLIONS of jobs.....
and when they were questioned about that total, it started shrinking.....to now about 4,000 temp jobs max......and just a few hundred permanent jobs

At least we have clean trees for the huggers in Texas. Go hug one in NYC Central Park and you get all dirty - dirty wet right now.

Just cut the trees down and if these boneheads want to save a tree tell them to eat a beaver or buy all the trees they want to plant paid for with their savings...

Nut cases. Cut the damned thing down...with them in it. That'll make other would-be tree sitters take notice and reconsider their future obstructionist antics.

If, in fact, TransCanada is trying to ship dirty Canadian oil to China, why is that allowed? Gas prices are much higher in Canada than the United States. Why don't they use their own oil? Why doesn't the Prime Minister stop the project? Nothing about this makes any sense at all. Maybe I could support a project that supports my United States, but I doubt we will get any of that Tar Sands Oil. Sounds like somebody gets rich, and the USA gets used.
In natural gas, when you allow a gas well on your property, you receive free gas for life. At minimum the US should demand we get free oil as long as the pipeline exists, otherwise it is nothing but an eyesore on the face of America.

i say let em cut em as long as they turn it into lumber for the owners of the land and plant new trees in their place outside the right of way for the pipeline. unlike the (columbia gas)natural gas companies who destroy trees and bushes and don't restore the land to the condition it was found before they set foot on your/my property and destroy it. don't trust any company to restore your property once they dig it up,or hack it down unless you have it in writing on a binding contract to restore your lands. otherwise you will have some devastated land useless for anything. blah blah blah get a contract signed infront of witnesses and a team of lawyers or they will be sorry.oh! i am all for the pipeline as long as they do it justly for all in it's path.

"If you own the property and you feel that you have something against it, that's fine," she said. "But if you're coming in from elsewhere, I just don't think that's proper."
Another thing: against tar sands oil then do not use ANY oil based products because they could be derived from tar sands oil. I think when you realize what that includes you will either live in an earthen hut or cave with no electricity (or solar/wind generated only) or become reasonable with your concerns.
Oil products include: plastic (including tarps), rubber, nylon, most ropes, a major chunk of clothing this days. PLUS anything produced by someone else probably use oil to produce or transport the items.
